About Us
Since the 1960s
Curtis Garage & Wrecker Service was started in the mid 1960’s by Emezire “Bud” & Wilma “Sis” Curtis. At the time the goal of the newly founded business was to assist travelers, stranded motorists, and local law enforcement agencies with towing and/or repair needs as Interstate 70 was being built to the West of Indianapolis. As the business hit the ground running, it quickly became a staple in the community. Fast forward many years and grandson, Gordon Curtis, would eventually follow in his grandfather’s footsteps, taking over the family business.
The Next Generation
Gordon purchased the business from his grandparents in 1990 and immediately went to work trying to grow the business. By purchasing bigger, newer equipment and adding more to the fleet, Gordon was able to hire more employees and take on more work. What started out as a small, family-owned business with less than a handful of employees has now grown to nearly twenty employees full-time. Over the years not only has our employee count grown but so has our fleet. Amid all the changes and opportunities over the years, one thing remains, we are still a proud, family-owned business thriving in the heart of Little Point, IN. We still take pride in serving our community, Morgan County and the surrounding counties, and our local law enforcement agencies.
Community Outreach
From the beginning, our business was founded on community and how we can be an asset to the people of our community. With that in mind, as our business continues to grow, so does the desire to give back to those who continuously give to us. From touch-a-truck events, seasonal festivals, to our annual Customer Appreciation Day – we thoroughly enjoy being present in giving back to our community and the surrounding communities.
Client Testimonials
They go above and beyond. Sam was professional, courteous and helpful. I was stranded along the side of Interstate 70 with a flat tire after hitting a pothole in the road. He made sure I got out of my car safely and into the wrecker, loaded my car and got us off the interstate. He called three places to find me a new tire and took me to that town so I could get it put on. He was friendly and put me at ease and made the situation not seem as bad. I definitely recommend them!
I’ve had very good experiences using them. They have the latest and best tools for the job, properly trained and experienced mechanics and operators. Very hard to find these days. They definitely make safety priority number one. Highly recommend! They also have a rare superpower around there called common sense.
They are wonderful. We dealt with JT after our car broke down in Indiana on our way home to New York. He dropped my husband and daughter off at the motel and picked my husband up when the car was done. They drove to go get the part so we could get back on the road. You should definitely give them your business.
